News from our actor in Australia, part 2
Kaite, our actor in Australia, concludes her report on participating in the Melbourne Passion Play:
Hi and Happy Easter to all of you.
Our last show on Good Friday had an amazing turnout of 400 people. Weather was sunny. They hired horses for the soldiers and doves/pigeons were released in the trading scene that occurs in the temple.
Mum and my eldest sister came to see me and my friend’s parents. I took photos of those I could grab eg Jesus, John the Baptist, Mother Mary and the crowd who were in my team and my Bride of course.
All went well, I finally married well in the wedding scene, I encouraged the others to react and gave them a pep talk to imagine Jesus as a pop star.
The crucifixion scene was over the top, me wailing hysterically beneath the cross. They had real wooden crosses. I enjoyed the feeding of the 5000. I went into the crowd offering them Jewish bread. In the Lazarus scene we also played good. Overall we did great this time round. On the 10 April is our cast party so I will have more feedback from the director to report back to you guys. We are fortunate the weather over here for Easter is sunny today.
